What We Fund

We fund a wide range of regular recreational pursuits and leisure-time learning. We can fund any activity that satisfies each and every criteria below.

Any activity that sits outside the formal national curriculum.

The activity must involve informal learning, with some form of instruction and oversight by a provider.

The activity must have been chosen by the child/young person in liaison with the referring professional.

The activity must be attended regularly on an open-ended basis, preferably weekly.

The activity must be led by a provider that Thriving Through Recreation can establish is both reputable and has their own safeguarding procedures.

It must also be possible for the referring professional and Thriving Through Recreation to agree that the chosen provider can adequately support the child or young person during their attendance.

To protect against conflict of interests, the chosen activity provider must not have any direct personal or professional connections with the referring professional or any of the child or young person's family members.

About Thriving through Recreation

Thriving Through Recreation is a UK charity that provides funds for children and young people to regularly access learning or training in recreational pursuits or leisure-time educational activities. We aim to improve the social and emotional welfare of vulnerable children and young people by facilitating equitable access to the joy and achievement that can be gained through taking part in regular recreational activities.
